Coconut Matcha Cloud
This latte plays with the contrast between a refreshing coconut base and a fluffy top layer of coconut-whipped matcha, creating a delicate “cloud” effect that is visually striking and enjoyable to drink. It’s a recipe designed to be experienced both visually and in flavour: fresh, tropical, and with a subtle sophisticated touch.
Coconut brings natural sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel that balances the vegetal, slightly bitter character of Alma Green Matcha Tea, resulting in a smooth yet characterful combination.
Ingredients:
- 200 ml chilled coconut water
- 80–100 ml coconut milk (or light coconut cream)
- 1–2 teaspoons Alma Green Matcha Tea
- 60 ml hot water (approx. 75–80 ºC)
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
- Ice, as needed
- Sift the Alma Green Matcha Tea into a bowl. Add the hot water and whisk until smooth, lump-free, and lightly frothy.
- In a separate bowl, combine the coconut milk with part of the prepared matcha and whip until you get a thicker, airy, cream-like texture.
- Fill a tall glass with ice and pour in the coconut water as the base.
- Carefully spoon the coconut and matcha cream on top to maintain the layered effect.
- If desired, add a few extra drops of matcha on top just before serving to enhance the visual contrast.
